The Human Resources Specialist is an integral part of the North American Human Resources team, and supports the full lifecycle of the employee through Talent Acquisition, HR service delivery and the development of HR Operations. They play an essential role in supporting programs, processes, and initiatives that ensure a meaningful employee experience. Each day will be different, requiring an agile and adaptable mindset. This role supports the HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition Partners in executing on initiatives and transactions that cross employee relations, policy distribution, on boarding/off boarding, performance management, compensation, talent acquisition & talent management, employee development, and benefits administration

The position is full-time, non-exempt, reports to the Human Resources Business Partner, and is based in Portsmouth, NH.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Acquisition:

  • Compose and deliver offer materials to newly hired candidates; send out necessary notifications
  • Facilitate and ensure completion of pre-employment screenings such as background checks, drug screens
  • Ensure an excellent candidate and hiring manager onboarding experience through efficient and timely communication
  • Manage employee referral process
  • Review and revise process documents as needed; conduct quarterly trainings on processes as needed

HR Delivery:

  • Facilitate and communicate HR policies and program updates and changes, in partnership with the Human Resources Business Partner
  • Apply HR and internal business knowledge to provide proactive and responsive support to managers and employees within assigned business units
  • Work with HRBP’s to activate the performance management and goal setting processes ensuring timely completion
  • Develop effective working relationships across HR functions to understand key process requirements ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Conduct full-cycle onboarding, orientation and offboarding activities in partnership with the Human Resources Specialists
  • Participate in departmental employee communications, which includes drafting, editing andposting articles on our company news site

HR Operations:

  • Partner with HRBP’s to facilitate employee changes by processing transactions such as transfers, manager changes, promotions, compensation changes, tuition reimbursements, leave requests and other transactional requests in the HRIS
  • Establish close and effective relationships with HRBP’s and cross-functional partners to act as operational support on all HR initiatives
  • Create and revise HR operations processes and policies as neccessary; update necessary systems

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. A degree in HR Management or Business Administration is an advantage
  • 1-2 years of experience working in corporate environments in an administrative capacity; experience in HR functions is preferred

  • Experience with high volume administrative tasks, and the ability to manage multiple activities, while keeping priorities on track
  • Naturally organized and detailed in completing work
  • Passionate about developing, capturing, and outlining thoughtful and scalable workflows
  • The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • A growth mindset with the propensity toward continuous learning
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to proactively identify potential issues and opportunities while seeking ways to continuously improve our work
  • Critical thought with analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of and experience with sophisticated enterprise scale HRIS platforms. Experience with Success Factors is desirable
  • Exposure to global cultures or broad international travel is an advantage
