The Position
As a member of the US R&D Human Resources team, the HR Generalist will work closely with global, regional, and local HR teams, employees, and line of business leadership to ensure that programs, processes, and employee needs are strongly supported as it relates to e.g., recruiting & onboarding, employee wellness, mobility, performance management and development programs. The HR Generalist can quickly adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment, and to partner effectively with a variety of stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions to the benefit of the employee experience.
Relationships
This job reports to the Head of Human Resources, US R&D. The role will interact with many different departments, functions, and employees at all levels within the organization and across multiple entity locations.
Essential Functions
- HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER (HRBP) SUPPORT: Support the HRBP team across US R&D to deliver human resources initiatives and activities that drive results and accelerate innovation. Develop and enable the organization by providing support, guidance and delivery of HR-related business requests. Establish credibility throughout the organization and position self as an effective problem solver of people and organizational issues. Create strong relationships with employees and leaders to be able to support, collaborate and deliver solutions
- PROGRAM AND PROCESS DELIVERY: Support internal programs and activities across multiple sites, including but not limited to; recruiting, onboarding/offboarding and orientation, mobility, immigration, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement coordination, systems support, benefit events, job description establishment, trainings, and policy & procedure related inquiries and creation. Gather and report data with useful HR metrics (e.g., time to hire and employee turnover rates)
- MANAGE KEY PROGRAMS: Partner with managers to manage and coordinate intern program, including recruiting and onboarding. Partner with relevant stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and administer site wellbeing programs and similar employee events
- EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATION: Partner with local communications partners, HRBPs and HR Centers of Excellence to ensure that HR related communication is present and current
- CROSS-FUNCTIONAL INVOLVEMENT: Act as a strong support partner to HRBPs and develop relationships across the P&O matrix to ensure support from stakeholders to appropriately guide employees and deliver the service level needed to ensure that productivity remains high. Enhance the employee experience by resolving issues promptly
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned
Physical Requirements
Approximately 0-10% overnight travel. Ability to lift 0-10 lbs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience required, preferably including operational and development focused responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills to seek input, provide coaching and advising to all levels within the organization and handle sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and integrity
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to complex details, execution and follow-through
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Requires ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of client groups, build supportive relationships and establish trust and credibility when collaborating
- Highly developed and excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required; Prior experience with HR Information Systems preferred
