Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the Human Resources Director to assist with the day-to-day operations. This role will play an important role supporting operational logistics and administration for recruitment, onboarding, and training, as well as owning a variety of office management tasks.


  • Own the hiring process from creating the requisition to sending the offer.
  • Work with hiring managers to support recruiting, including job description and job ad creation.
  • Conduct resume sourcing and applicant screening.
  • Build and own a unique pipeline of highly qualified candidates.
  • Organize and participate in recruiting events and career fairs.
  • Manage the interview process including scheduling, interviewing, candidate evaluation, reference verification, etc.
  • Own the onboarding process for new team members, including coordinating hire dates, facilitating new hire orientations (including reviewing/educating candidates about benefits, retirement plans and policies and procedures).
  • Act as point person to review, verify, and process all new hire paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and administer employee training and development.
  • Work with managers to create training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in the creation of employee recognition programs and employee events.
  • Maintain confidential employee files and correspondence.
  • Respond to unemployment requests for information and employment verifications.
  •  Support pre-employment activities including processing background checks and/or drug screens.
  • Bring enthusiasm to the office and offer up new ideas regarding HR programs and procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or bachelor’s degree in Human resources, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience preferably in Human Resources, with 1-2 years of recruiting experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred, or ability to obtain certification.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems and various Internet search engines.
  • Experience with Paylocity a plus
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, presentation, and relationship building.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and provide excellent internal and external client service.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow, suggest changes, and challenge the status quo.
  • Action and results oriented.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, time management and flexibility
  • Proactive work style with the ability to solve problems, anticipate needs, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to work on site at our Stow, Massachusetts location.
